Parents,
Happy Monday! I hope that you and your family had a restful weekend and are enjoying the beginning of a new week. This is already the fourth week of the quarter and it seems that students and staff are in the groove. Please continue to encourage your child in their schoolwork and spiritual lives as we partner together to make WCS an awesome place for them to be. It has been a real blessing to get to know so many families at the Elementary level and I cannot thank you enough for your support and encouragement.
One of the most encouraging events of the school year for me personally took place Saturday night. The WCS Booster Club put on the first ever Woodland Christian Father-Daughter Dance. Mrs. Geer coordinated the efforts of several Booster Club members and put together a truly special event. When the doors opened at 7:00 p.m. , our first guests were a father and grandfather of a kindergartener and preschooler. The girls immediately began twirling on the dance floor while joyfully holding the flowers that they had been given by their dates. It was a priceless moment and a great illustration of the special relationship between dads and their daughters. Over 75 people attended the dance and all proceeds will be used by the Booster Club to benefit students of WCS. This event was right in line with our desire to help build community and provide our families with opportunities for fun and wholesome family time. Thank you to all who made it possible.
It is hard to believe, but re-registration is right around the corner. With that in mind, I want to remind you that the Parent Information Night that was originally scheduled for tomorrow night has been moved to February 4th at 7:00 p.m. in the LPC Worship Center on the West St. Campus. The tuition and fee schedule for the 2010-2011 school year, along with the projected budget will be approved next Monday, February 1st, and our school board president, Dave Hargadon, will be presenting that information at the Parent Information Night. We look forward to seeing you there.
A few Reminders before closing:)
As we make our way through this week, I would encourage you to seek first the kingdom of God and be prepared for Gods great provision when doing so. I hope that you have a wonderful week and find some time to spend with the Lord. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
Thank You,
Justin Smith
