Dear Parents,

Happy Thanksgiving week! What great joy this week brings as we focus on all that we have to be thankful for. Certainly we all face many trials and difficult circumstances that come with living in a fallen world, but God constantly pours out blessings into our lives. My wife and I will be traveling to see family in the Bay Area late Tuesday night and then on to the Central Valley on Thursday morning, as we do the holiday shuffle. I am looking forward to a special time with family members, some of whom I see only a couple of times each year. Hopefully you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with family and friends. Let us all join in prayer the next couple of days for protection for those traveling.

In the spirit of thankfulness, we have attached a letter from Kim Rodegerdts, WCS Outreach Committee chair, thanking all of our families for the overwhelming amount of cookies that were brought in last week. We ended up being able to deliver cookies to all six emergency agencies that we had originally hoped to show our appreciation for. Mr. Brown, our high school principal, delivered the cookies to the Fire and Police Departments at the flag football game and the baskets received a standing ovation. Almost 1900 cookies were baked by the WCS family! That is unbelievable. What a simple and meaningful way to honor our local heroes.

Please keep in mind that WCS Band begins November 30th. That is just one week away. If you have a student in 5th through 12th grade who would like to participate in the band program, please make sure you have the registration forms filled out and in by that day. This should be a fantastic program and I cant wait to see where God will take Band at WCS through Mr. Boughton. Registration forms are attached.

A few reminders before closing:

  7. Calvary Chapel is currently running their production of Last Chance, a drama aimed at presenting a clear picture for salvation through Christ. Showings will be tonight, November 23rd, and tomorrow night, November 24th, at 7:00 p.m.

In closing, I will leave you with the words of the Psalm 100:

1 "Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.

2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.

3 Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his ;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.

5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations."

Have a great Thanksgiving break.

God Bless,
