Dave Hargadon

School Board President
dharg@sbcglobal.net

David Hargadon has been actively involved with Woodland Christian School since 1997, and is currently serving as President on the WCS Board. Dave and his wife Suzi have four children, all of whom attend WCS.  Dave holds a B.S.in Managerial and Agricultural Economics.  After college Dave attended the police academy and began his 19 years of work as a police officer.  Since 1997 he has been employed by the Sacramento Police Department and currently works as a Sergeant in the Traffic Division.
Dave has been a Christian since 1997. God used many people, including those associated with WCS to bring him to a point where he felt he needed to stop trusting in himself and devote his life to Christ.  Dave is committed to Christian service, from teaching Bible classes, participating in small groups, or to serving on the church board.  The Hargadon’s are currently attending First Baptist Church in Davis, CA.
Dave is committed to providing a safe environment where our staff can prepare our children for college and Christian life.  He believes WCS should stand out; not only for our love for God, but also with regard to our academics, character, community service, athletics, fine arts, and much more. Dave is committed to seeing Woodland Christian School continue to strive to be, a light in a dark world. He believes that our staff and our kids can change the world as they grow in Christ and learn at WCS.

Daniel M. King has been affiliated with WCS since 1996 and is currently serving as Vice President of the WCS Board.  Dan and his wife Laura have been married 21 years and have two children.  Their daughter Andrea, who is currently a sophomore at WCHS, has been at WCS since her preschool days.  Their son Nathan resides in Glendora along with their grandson Isaiah.  Dan holds an A.A. in Agriculture Business from Consumes River College and has been self employed in the insurance business in Woodland since 1978.  He currently is one of the owners and serves as the Vice President of InterWest Insurance Services.

Dan was baptized at First Southern Baptist Church in 1980.  The Kings currently attend Calvary Baptist Church in Woodland where they have been members since 1999. Dan’s service at Calvary has included time on their Board of Directors as well as various committees. Dan has been active in the Woodland community as well.  Some of these activities include almost 15 years as a board member of The Friends of the Mission (benefiting the Yolo Wayfarer Center); Woodland Chamber of Commerce Director; a term as Treasurer, and a current member of Gideon’s International; 12 years of service on the Woodland Joint Unified School District Agricultural Education Advisory committee; member of the Woodland Joint Unified School District Bond Oversight committee, and a past board membership in the Woodland Adult Softball Association.

Dan’s experiences as both a WCS parent and a local businessman have shown him personally the value of Woodland Christian and the difference it can make in the lives of families and in our community.  He sees it as a true beacon of light for our region and is honored to have the opportunity to serve its families and staff.

Debbie Simpson

dsimpson

WCS Board Secretary
thesimpsonfam@sbcglobal.net

Debbie Simpson has a long history with Woodland Christian School that began with her attendance there in the 2nd Grade.  She is currently serving as the Secretary on the WCS Board. Debbie and her husband Eric have been happily married 18 years and have four children:  Tyler (9th), Molly (7th), Jack (5th) and Joey (2nd), who love attending WCS.
In the early 1990's Debbie returned to WCS as an educator;  teaching 2nd and 3rd grades at the elementary school;  and girls P.E., geography and Algebra I at the middle school.  In 1995, Debbie's husband accepted a job that took them to San Diego for nearly ten years.  Upon returning to Woodland in 2004, Debbie and Eric were thrilled to enroll their four children at WCS.   Debbie took an active role in the school both as an aide to the teachers and as a substitute teacher, in addition to helping coordinate volunteers and organizing a diaper drive to benefit the Pregnancy Support Group of Woodland.   In 2009, Debbie again joined the WCS staff to help start an afternoon kindergarten program which enhanced the 1/2 day program currently offered.

Debbie is passionate about Woodland Christian School and the lasting impact it has on the students and families.  It was through this ministry Debbie first became a Christian and grew in her faith with the support and nurturing of her WCS teachers.  While she has enjoyed her time on staff again, Debbie will step down from this role to be able to spend more time with her family.  The Simpson family is actively involved at First Baptist Church of Davis.
