I am a Leader

Ellie Standiford, Class of 2032

“I am Ellie and I am a 5th grader here at Woodland Christian. I love being a cardinal because of the friends I have here, and also the education. I learn a lot here! I am currently in leadership, which is a 5th-grade extracurricular that you have to interview for. We get to put on skits, organize events, and plan spirit weeks for the school. To be in leadership, you must be kind, loving, carding, honest, and stand up for the right thing. To be in leadership, you also have to be a good community citizen. This means you are helpful to everyone around you, and you give to those in need. So far this year, my leadership team and I have collected Cardinal Care Backpacks. This is where different families at Woodland Christian pick up a backpack and fill it with the needs and wants of a child, and then it gets shipped off. We have also done shoe boxes that you can fill for a child in need for Christmas. I got to fill my own Cardinal Care Backpack this year for a girl who was only one-month old. It was very fun to bring a child joy and know that you are helping someone in need. This year, our elementary school filled 177 backpacks total and we hope to do 300 next year! When I grow up, I want to be a teacher just like my favorite teacher from 4th grade.” -Ellie Standiford, Class of 2032
